Australia has been producing some of the finest tunes to reach international shores and ears in recent years, from the jazz-soul stylings of Hiatus Kaiyote, to Harvey Sutherland’s hardware disco, Andy Hart’s dancefloor motivators, and Silent Jay & Jace XL’s woozy mixtape R&B. Now, the five-piece group The Possé add to the cultural exports with their latest EP, Season’s Greetings.
Founded by Sydney stalwarts Andrew Elston – a.k.a boogie producer Physique – and Omar producer Ross Ferraro, the group brings a live approach to the synthesised sounds of the club. Following last year’s debut EP, Our Thing, their latest for the ever-reliable Ken Oath is a tropically-infused, groove-laden house number.
